Painted Stakes 2003 Yukon Quest

The Yukon Quest is arguably the toughest dog sled race in the world. From Whitehorse to Fairbanks, dog sled teams race 1000 miles in weather that can drop to -50oF or colder.

Our mission ... paint the thousands of stakes that mark the trail ... because "a wrong turn in Albuquerque" is nothing to joke about.

The whole process happens in a big warehouse lit by floodlights and out of the cold.

Although tedious, good tunes, great people, donuts, and coffee help the Saturday morning fly by.
