Thanksgiving is for the birds!

Let's see, I think there were about seven or eight Rotaracters there helping out. Most of them showed up at noon, when the event started. There were four stations for building a bird house.

The first station was where the kids take a pine cone and roll it in peanut butter and cover it in seeds and grains. The next was the wooden block station, where a hole was drilled into the block and filled with peanut butter and seeds. A peg was added underneath for something for the birds to stand on. The third station included cutting open a milk carton and filling it with seed and using some device to hang it with. The last station was taking a milk jug and cutting it open, decorating, and wrapping a coat hanger around it.

The project turned out a success due to the cooperation of the volunteers, Fish and Game staff, and the participation of the kids that showed up.
