The Russian Rotaractors were staying with Jerry, a Soldotna Rotarian. Although obviously disappointed that they were leaving for the weekend, Jerry was completely supportive of our desire to show the Russian's more of Alaska than just the Kenai Peninsula.

The Russians themselves were very appreciative of the chance to spend time with fellow Rotaractors. However it seemed that they were somewhat unsure about this group of scruffy looking Fairbanksians who looked and smelled like people who had just spent two days in a car.

As we made our way through the grocery store in Eagle River looking for last minute camping supplies, the Russian girls wandered around aimlessly, mostly in shock from the goofy behavior of Rotaractors with not enough sleep and too much coffee. Meanwhile, Anton just had to see for himself the supply of Chinese food in an American grocery store.

Late Saturday evening on the advise of another customer at the grocery store, we headed to Eklutna Lake to camp for the night
