President Kari Pile Welcome!

It is my great privilege to lead the Aurora Borealis Rotaract Club in it's fifth year as a club. In five years our club has grown to do amazing projects. We have an excellent balance between leadership development and helping the communities of Alaska.

The club has a great reputation of "service above self" and we are truly "leading the way" for the other Rotaract clubs being newly formed within Alaska.

Our projects this past year have been as impressive as always:

  • In March 2006 seven Rotaractors traveled to St. Bernard Parish to do Hurricane Katrina Relief work.
  • Two of our members were able to represent our club at the Rotary International Conference in Copenhagen.
  • We have continued our long relationships with Calypso Farms, Denali Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Love Inc., The Yukon Quest and many other local non-profits.

Our future holds many projects and promising new avenues:

  • February 2007 we will be hosting the "World without War" art project that will travel on to the rest of our district in Russia.
  • March 2007 we will once again be holding RARE, this is a great opportunity to show other Rotaractors what Alaska is truly about.

We currently have an opportunity to take many different paths. Please join us in our future and help us form the club in your vision.

I look forward to seeing you at a future meeting or project.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Yours in Service,

Kari Pile
